CCTV Consultant in Chennai: AI Camera Design Advice
If you are looking for a CCTV consultant in Chennai, the real question is what the cameras should actually do for you. Today's AI cameras do far more than record: they detect faces and people, talk, sound a siren and show colour pictures at night. A CCTV expert designs the system so each of those features is placed where it earns its keep.
This guide explains what a CCTV consultant in Chennai designs, and how the features of the Stanklin AI camera we install change the plan.
What does a CCTV consultant do?
- Site survey: walking the property to find entrances, blind corners, lighting and cable routes.
- CCTV design: deciding the number, type and exact position of each camera, and what it must achieve: recognise a face, spot a person after dark, or speak to a visitor.
- Specification: writing down recorder, storage, power backup and cable so quotes can be compared fairly.
- Handover: testing day and night pictures, phone viewing and how to find footage.
The AI features a consultant plans around
Stanklin is a Taiwan-based AI CCTV brand. Its cameras bring features that must be planned, not just switched on:
- AI face detection. The camera photographs the face of everyone who comes, so you can see who visited at a glance and click a face to play that visit, instead of rewinding hours of video. The camera must be mounted where it sees faces, which is why placement matters.
- AI human detection. It tells people apart from general movement. A consultant decides which zones, such as the compound or a back lane, should trigger it.
- Siren and speaker. A large speaker makes warnings loud and clear. A voice message such as "Who are you? What are you doing here?" can play when someone enters a marked zone, to deter a break-in before it happens.
- Two-way talk. You can speak to a courier at the gate or to a parent at home from your phone.
- Colour night vision. Built-in lights give a colour picture at night, so faces and clothes are easier to identify.
What a good CCTV design should include
- A camera plan marked on a drawing or photograph, with a purpose for each camera.
- Which cameras use face detection, human detection and siren zones, and why.
- Recording and storage: how many days of footage you keep.
- Power backup, since Chennai has power cuts.
- Cable: we use pure copper, never copper-clad aluminium (CCA).
- Who can view the cameras, and how passwords are managed.
- Service plan and warranty. Stanklin cameras come with a 2 year replacement warranty; ask for the terms in writing.
When is a CCTV consultant in Chennai worth hiring?
A small flat rarely needs a consultant. Villas, bungalows, new houses, apartment communities, factories, hotels and showrooms do, because the cost of a missing camera or a badly placed one is high. If you are building, plan the conduit before the walls are finished.
Key takeaways
- A CCTV consultant in Chennai designs around what each camera must do, not only where it goes.
- AI face detection, human detection, siren and two-way talk work best when planned zone by zone.
- Ask for a written plan, quality cable, power backup and warranty terms.
Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between a CCTV consultant and an installer?
A consultant starts from what you need to protect and designs backwards to the equipment. An installer fits what has been chosen. We do both, with a written plan first.
Do AI cameras need special placement?
Yes. Face detection needs a view of faces, so a door camera belongs above the door and a gate camera on the centre line.
Can the camera scare off a thief?
The siren and voice warning are designed to deter an intruder as they approach, rather than only record them.
Can I check the cameras from my phone?
Yes. You can watch live video, see the list of visitors' faces and talk through the camera from your phone.
