CCTV Installation in T. Nagar: AI Cameras for Showrooms

T. Nagar's showrooms, jewellers and textile stores handle large crowds by day and valuable stock after closing. A CCTV installation in T. Nagar showroom should therefore do two different jobs: help you find what happened in a busy day, and defend the stock when the shutters are down.

The Stanklin AI cameras we install, from a Taiwan-based AI CCTV brand, are designed for both. Here is how showroom CCTV and AI work together.

CCTV installation in T. Nagar after closing time: human detection and siren

When the showroom is closed, nobody should be inside. AI human detection tells a person from general movement, so a camera on the stock room, locker room and back door can sound the siren and play a voice warning, such as "Who are you? What are you doing here?", if someone enters. An alert reaches your phone. The idea is to deter a break-in before it happens.

During the day: find events in seconds

AI face detection photographs the face of everyone who comes and lists them. If an item or cash goes missing, click the right face and the video of that visit plays, so you do not need to search a full day of footage. Audio is recorded with video, which can help settle billing disputes. Tell customers and staff that cameras are in use, and never place cameras in trial rooms or private areas.

Where showrooms need cameras

• Entrances and exits: a clear face view at a height that shows faces.
• Billing and cash counters: the counter, cash drawer and customer.
• Display counters and shelves: avoiding glare from showcases.
• Stock rooms, lockers and strong rooms: doors and the area in front of them, with a siren speaker.
• Back door, loading bay and staircases.

Jewellery shop CCTV: extra care for valuables

For jewellery shop CCTV, cover each counter and the area where items are shown, and keep enough storage to investigate stock differences. Place the recorder in a locked room away from the sales floor, with power backup so cameras keep working during power cuts. Add an alarm for after-hours break-ins.

Colour night vision and build quality

Built-in lights give a colour picture when the showroom lights are off, so people and clothing are easier to identify. Stanklin cameras have a metal body and a Sony sensor and come with a 2 year replacement warranty. We use pure copper cable, never copper-clad aluminium (CCA), so cameras do not fail. A CCTV AMC keeps cameras cleaned and the system checked.

Protect the evidence

• Keep the recorder locked with a strong password and limited access.
• Set the recorder's clock correctly so timestamps match billing records.
• Decide how many days of footage to keep and who can export it.

See our CCTV products page for cameras that suit retail use.

The process in a working showroom

We visit during business hours to see the real crowd and counters, mark camera positions on a plan and give a written quote. Installation can be scheduled after closing time, and the system is tested for both daytime and night-time before handover, including phone viewing and how to search faces.

Key takeaways

• CCTV installation in T. Nagar should protect stock after closing with human detection and sirens, and speed up searches by day with face lists.
• Cover entrances, counters, display areas and stock rooms.
• Protect the recorder and maintain the system regularly.
