Home CCTV Installation in Chennai
A home CCTV system only works if the cameras are in the right places. At Black Cats, our own team visits your house first, plans where each camera should go, installs the system and services it afterwards. This page explains what we cover in a home, how we install, and what to ask any installer before you hire one.
What a home CCTV system should cover
Most break-ins and thefts at homes happen at the same few points. A good plan puts cameras where a person has to pass:
- Main door and entrance porch
- Gate and compound wall
- Car park and driveway
- Back door, side passage and service entrance
- Staircase and terrace access
- Common passages inside the house (we avoid bedrooms and bathrooms)
AI cameras for homes
We install Stanklin AI cameras. Stanklin is a Taiwan-based AI CCTV brand. Its cameras detect faces and human shapes, so you are alerted when a person is in view and not when a branch moves or a vehicle passes. Loud external siren speakers add a deterrent: someone who hears a siren outside is far more likely to leave.
How we install
Our process is the same for every home:
- Site survey: we walk the property and mark camera positions.
- Plan: you see where each camera goes and what it will cover before work starts.
- Installation: neat cabling with pure copper cable only. We do not use copper-clad aluminium (CCA). Here is why that matters.
- Handover: we show you how to view and play back footage.
- Service: the same team services the system after installation.
What affects the cost
We do not quote prices on this page because every house is different. These are the things that change the total:
- Number of cameras and where they are placed
- Length of cable runs, especially in multi-storey houses
- Standard cameras or AI cameras
- How many days of recording you want to keep
- Outdoor weather protection for gate and boundary cameras
Questions to ask any CCTV installer
- Is the cable pure copper or CCA?
- Will someone visit and survey before quoting?
- Who services the system after installation, and is it the same team?
- Where is the footage stored, and for how many days?
- Are cameras placed to protect privacy inside the house?
